At Gastro Savannah, we are dedicated to conducting medical research in the field of gastroenterology (GI), through clinical trials, aimed at gaining valuable insights into the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of GI diseases and conditions.

Colon Cancer Biomarker Study - Get paid $100 to participate
Colorectal cancer screening test in an average-risk population (Find-CRC)
Do you meet the criteria?
- Are you 40 years or older and planning to have a colon cancer screening?
- Are you able to tolerate a blood test?
- Would you be willing and able to have a simple blood test within 120 days prior to your colonoscopy?
- Would you be willing and able to return to the office for additional blood tests at 12 months and 24 months?
- Would you be willing to sign a consent form to allow your blood to be tested for this clinical trial?
You are NOT eligible if:
- Any prior history of any kind of malignancy (exception: participants who have undergone surgical removal of skin squamous cell or basal cell cancers may be enrolled, provided the procedure was completed at least 12 months prior consent for the study)
- Had a complete colonoscopy with adequate bowel preparation in the previous nine (9) years.
- Undergoing diagnostic colonoscopy for investigation of symptoms such as unexplained and long-lasting diarrhea or overt rectal bleeding (e.g. hematochezia or melena within the previous 30 days). Blood on toilet paper after wiping does not constitute rectal bleeding
- Undergone colorectal cancer screening within the associated recommended intervals
- FOBT/FIT/COLOGUARD within the previous 12 months
- FIT-DNA test within the previous 36 months
- Blood-based CRC screening test within the previous 36 months d. Circulating Tumor Cell (CTC) includes benign and/or perplastic polyps of any size. Note: Tissue biopsies that result in no histopathology findings are acceptable.
- Had a prior colorectal resection for any reason other than sigmoid diverticular disease
- Diagnosis or personal history of any of the following high-risk conditions for colorectal cancer:
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including chronic ulcerative colitis (CUC) and Crohn’s disease
- Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), including attenuated FAP
- Hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer syndrome (also referred to as “HNPCC” or “Lynch Syndrome”)
- Other hereditary cancer syndromes, including, but not limited to, Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, MYH-associated polyposis (MAP), Gardner’s syndrome, Turcot’s (or Crail’s) syndrome, Cowden’s syndrome, juvenile polyposis, Cronkhite-Canada syndrome, neurofibromatosis, and familial hyperplastic polyposis

Prevention Trials
Prevention trials are research studies focused on discovering methods to prevent disease. Typically, participants in these trials do not currently have the disease but are considered at high risk for developing it.
Screening Trials
The purpose of screening trials is to explore methods for detecting a particular disease, often cancer, before symptoms appear, making it potentially easier to treat.
Supportive Care/Palliative Care Trials
These trials explore methods to enhance the quality of life for individuals affected by a particular disease, particularly those experiencing side effects from both the illness and its treatment.
