What are Ulcers?

- Bloating
- Indigestion
- Loss of appetite
- Vomiting blood or black stools in severe cases
Causes & Risk Factors
Common causes include H. pylori infection, NSAID use, smoking, excessive alcohol use, and increased stomach acid production.
Gastroenterological Diagnosis & Treatment
Diagnosis may involve upper endoscopy, laboratory testing, and testing for H. pylori infection. Treatment often includes acid-reducing medications, antibiotics when infection is present, and avoidance of medications or lifestyle factors that may worsen irritation. Prompt treatment is important to prevent complications such as bleeding or perforation.
